The Glasgow Hobby Clan Painting Competition is a community-driven miniature painting event showcasing talent, creativity, and passion across the hobby. With multiple categories, live judging, and online access, it’s designed to bring painters together for a day of friendly competition and celebration.
But it’s not just about competing — it’s about connecting.
Event Highlights:
- Painting Competition Categories: Single Miniature, Unit/Squad, Diorama, Bust, Vehicle, Duel, Large Model, and Young Painter.
- Awards & Prizes: Best in Category, Best in Show, People’s Choice, Livestream Fan Favourite, and Young Painter Award (Entry to The Young Painter Category is free for under-16s.)
- Community Painting Stations: Sit down, grab some paints, and enjoy hobby time with others. Bring your own mini or join in with supplies available on the day.
- Food & Refreshments: Hot food, snacks, and drinks included, with space to relax and socialise between events.
- Livestream Access: Watch the event online, cheer for your favourites, and take part in the Fan Favourite vote.
- Community Vibe: This is more than a competition — it’s a hobby day for everyone.

Entry Rule: Each competitor may only submit one model per category. For example, you could enter a Single Miniature, a Bust, and a Diorama — but not two Single Miniatures.
- 10:00 – Doors open, exhibition, and painting stations live
- 12:00 – Judging begins
- 13:00 – Community hangout & refreshments
- 15:00 – People’s Choice community voting
- 16:30 – Awards Ceremony (in-person + livestream)
- All entries must be dropped off at the ACVC Hub before the submission deadline (TBC).
- Each competitor may only submit one model per category (maximum of six entries across all categories).
- Sponsored prizes include brushes, paints, and exclusive hobby tools.
- Hot food, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase for in-person attendees.
Q: Do I have to attend in person to enter?
A: No. Virtual tickets allow you to enter one category and watch the event via livestream.
Q: Can I enter more than one model?
A: Yes, up to six models across different categories. Only one entry per category is allowed.
Q: Can I buy more than one ticket?
A: Yes, but each ticket type already includes entry rights. For multiple entries, purchase either additional Entry Fees (£5 each) or the Entry Bundle (£25 for six).
Q: When do I drop off my model?
A: Models must be delivered to the ACVC Hub before the submission deadline (TBC). Details will be emailed to all entrants.
Q: What happens to my model after judging?
A: All entries will remain on display for the event and can be collected after the awards ceremony.
Q: Is there food available?
A: Yes — there will be hot food, snacks, and drinks available throughout the day, catering provided by The Grubsmith.
Q: Is the event family-friendly?
A: Absolutely! The Young Painter category is open to under-16s, and the day is designed to be welcoming to all ages. Entry to The Young Painter Category is free for under-16s
